RVJGC held its final event of the year, the Parent/Child Scramble, at Rundle Park Golf course on Sept 11. We had 50 golfers play this year. We had a three way tie for second place- positions were determined using the countback method.  The following are the event prize winners of Golf Town gift cards:

1^st place: Cole Erlam (Leigh Ellestad) score 57; $75 gift card

2^nd place: Tim Chizewski ( Mike Chizewski) score 58; $50 gift card

3^rd place: Caleb Lovgren  ( Jim Lovgren) score 58; $30 gift card

‘Most Honest’: Emery Townsend ( Jeremiah Townsend ) ; $30 gift card

Closest to pin (#9): Kenton Kaup; $25 gift card

Longest putt (#18); Caleb Lovgren; $25 gift card

Prize winners who were not able to receive their certificates at the event will have them mailed out to their home address.

We had 11 juniors attend our Club Championship event on August 26 at Victoria GC. It was a beautiful day for golf. There was a tie for second place which was broken using the countback scoring method. The prize winners were:

1^st place: Owen Goertzen (73) -  $75 gift card

2^nd place: Judah Wurtz (80) -  $50 gift card

3^rd place: Adam Goertzen (80) -   $30 gift card

Closest to pin on 7^th hole: Raul II Rojas  - $25 gift card

Thanks to all everyone who came out to the Ambassador Golf Texas Scramble  Event on Aug 22nd. We had a super fun day and everyone had their game face on despite the weather being a little cool and spitting rain.

We had 30 juniors attend  our Riverside event on August 13. It was a beautiful day for golf ( although a little ‘warm’ ). They were entered into two divisions. The competitive division played an 18 - hole individual stroke play event. The non-competitive group played a 3 ( or 4 person ) 18 - hole Texas Scramble format event. The winners were as follows:

Competitive division:

1^st place: Owen Goertzen ( 74 )  $75 gift card

2^nd place: Simon Reekie ( 76 ) $50 gift card

3^rd place: Logan Baich ( 84 ) $25 gift card

Non-competitive division:

Style: Texas Scramble Event

Maximum:18 participants

Age: 8-18 years

Start Time: Between 3-4 pm depending on the number of registrants. You will be notified of your tee time the day before the event. 

Cost: Members will use their punches for this event, unless you have a Rundle Only Membership or Adult/Junior Membership - cost will be $20.00 

Prizes: $25 Gift Card Awarded to each of the winning team members. Plus $10 gift card for each guy or gal for the longest drive, closest to the pin,  and longest putt.  Plus  3 draw prizes!

RVJG CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

August 26, 2021 @ Victoria Golf Course starting at 9:00 am.

This event requires Junior Golfers to qualify to participate.  

You must have a sound understanding of the rules of golf and playing ability.

Qualifications: You must meet the 10 round requirement and are capable to shoot a round under 95 at Victoria Golf course in order to qualify for this event. 

Cost: There will be a $10 registration fee to secure your spot and to cover the cost of food and prizes.

No motorized golf carts will be allowed, pull/push carts maybe used.

RVJG Hot Texas Scramble @ Riverside GC

We had a great day for our Drive Your Future event at Victoria on July 16. There were 31 golfers playing in three divisions in this event. The division winners were:

Competitive division:

1^st place: Owen Goertzen ( 77 ) $75

2^nd place: Logan Baich ( 78 ) $50

3^rd place: Judah Wurtz ( 83 ) $25 ( won on a countback to settle tie )

Non competitive 18 hole division:

1^st place: Tim Chizewski ( 85 ) $25

9 hole non competitive division:

1^st place: Jack Dawson ( 45 ) $20

Longest putt winner: Owen Goertzen (gift bag)

In addition there were three draw prize winners of gift bags ( sleeves of balls, golf towel, tees and bag tag with RVJGC logo)

We had our first RVJG event of the year last Wednesday -the Spring Thaw event. Due to covid it was postponed about a month from its usual date. The delay and unprecedented hot weather left no doubt that winter was indeed over! We had an incredible turnout for this event particularly considering the temperature reached 36 C that day. I want to congratulate all 43 of the 48 kids that signed up who played.  Due to the extreme heat, we turned the event into a 9-hole game but the kids who wanted to play 18 holes could do so on their own. 11 of the 43 kids braved the heat and played the full 18 holes! There were two teams tied with a score of 24 ( 3 under par ) in this Texas scramble format event. The winner was determined using the countback method.

The prize winners in the event were:

1st place (24) $25 each: Raul II Rojas , Jack Dawson, Casy Fedynak, Connor Verhage
2^nd place (24) $20 each: Logan Baich, Joshua Richlark, Zack Grant
3^rd place (25) $15 each: Joshua Wiebe, Finn MacDonald, Van MacDonald

Closest to pin ( #2 hole) $25: Corbin Knock
